Adopt a Gravel.
Adopt a Gravel is our growing archive of ride-ready gravel routes.
Some are smooth and fast. Others are rough, remote, and demanding. All are selected and documented from real reconnaissance work in the field.

No mass tourism. No algorithm-generated routes. Just terrain worth riding.

Field reconnaissance for cycling media and brands.
Editorial Recon.
Editorial Recon is built for cycling media and brands looking for more than predefined shooting locations.
We focus on route selection, terrain reading, visual coherence and field reconnaissance across the western Pyrenees, between Navarra, Aragon and Béarn. Each session is designed according to the season, the publication, the bicycle and the atmosphere being sought.
Unlike conventional press trips, we provide access to roads, landscapes and light conditions identified through years of riding, exploration and local knowledge.
This approach preserves flexibility, creative independence and direct connection with the territory - exactly the way we believe editorial cycling stories should be produced.
How we work
Editorial Recon provides field reconnaissance, route planning and local support for editorial and creative projects.
We do not operate as a travel agency or tourism office, and do not handle accommodation bookings, transport reservations or third-party payments. This approach preserves flexibility, creative independence and direct relationships with local providers - exactly the way we believe editorial cycling productions should be developed.
From your vision to the route, escapes built just for you.

How we work
Pyrenean Escapes designs experiences, not travel packages. We focus on routes, terrain reading, and on-the-ground expertise, while participants remain free to choose and book their own accommodation, transport, and services. This approach preserves flexibility, independence, and a direct relationship with local providers - exactly the way we believe pyrenean experiences should be lived.
Tailored escapes.
Every rider has different ambitions. With Royal Asport Cycleworks, your escape is designed around them. We listen, we plan, we deliver - quietly unique rides meant just for you. We design the experience around you, from route concepts to time, terrain, and pace that match your goals. You remain in charge of reservations and on-the-ground execution.
Here are some examples.
Juniors Bikepacking Camp

For a regional committee of the French Cycling Federation, we created a three-day camp tailored to Junior riders. Objectives: fun, safe discovery, and team spirit. We designed:
• 3 days of bikepacking in the Basque Country
• Quiet routes and trails with no high mountains
• Progressive mileage to match junior capacity
• An atmosphere focused on exploration, confidence, and enjoyment
A relaxed, formative event where young riders can enjoy the essentials of bikepacking while sharing the experience with teammates.
Beach-to-beach Gravel

Three French cyclists wanted to cross the Pyrenees east to west from Perpignan to Hendaye, entirely on gravel. We mapped and delivered:
• 8 riding days
• Daily luggage transfers to keep the riders light
• Selected accommodations each night, balancing comfort and local character
• Stage-by-stage .gpx and .fit files with precise routing across passes and hidden tracks
The result: a complete blueprint for an exhilarating gravel adventure, a seamless trans-Pyrenean ride from beach to beach.
Basque Country Training Camp

A Dutch rider asked for a one-week camp focused on quiet roads, daily consistency, and progressive challenge. We designed:
• 6 days on the bike across the Basque Country
• Custom mileage each day, adapted to training objectives
• Average elevation per stage balanced to build endurance without overload
• Routes hand-picked for minimal traffic, authentic scenery, and variety
From first pedal stroke to last evening dinner, the week unfolded exactly to the rider’s brief: demanding, restorative, and uniquely his.
Every escape begins with a conversation. Tell us what inspires you, and we’ll craft the rest.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Pyrenees Cycling Group, owner of Royal Asport Cycleworks, is not a licensed travel agency. We do not sell accommodation, transport, or package tours. All bookings and payments for accommodation, meals, and logistics are made directly by you with the selected providers. This way, you retain full control - while benefiting from our insider knowledge to make your trip unique.

Celebrating cycling in the western Pyrenees.
La Isolé, the authentic Pyrenean sportive.
Born in Borau - the village of José María Javierre, the very first Spaniard to enter the Tour de France “en isolé” (as an independent rider) in 1909 and 1910 - La Isolé has become a landmark event that blends intensity, history, and local spirit in the Pyrenees.

The festival offers four formats to test every rider’s limits across wild and demanding terrain:
• Mediofondo: 60 km > +1,600 m
• Granfondo: 140 km > +3,000 m
• Ultrafondo “Tres Reinos”: 170 km > +4,000 m - the toughest option, built for groups and adventurous souls
• Cronoescalada “Tourmalet 1910”: a 19 km uphill gravel time trial, a tribute to the first-ever Tourmalet ascent
Beyond the sporting challenge, La Isolé is defined by its spirit: an immersion in Pyrenean cycling culture, complete with exhibitions of vintage and historic bicycles, period equipment, and an atmosphere that transforms Borau into a true epicenter of cycling adventure.

Immerse yourself into La Isolé spirit with those two videos made by @sebeteam in 2023. Enjoy the ride!
