Our Pyrénées Hike & Bike Camp is built around a cycling event like no others: La Isolé cyclosportive, a unique, exclusive 2-days event imagined and organized by Diego Camarero and his teammates at the Club Ciclista Borau. La Isolé is an homage to our founder Joseph Habierre, the first Spaniard to race Le Tour de France. Joseph participated in the Tour de France 1909 and 1910 as independent: "Isolé", in french.

Among the 3 road circuits proposed to the 200 riders on the Saturday, the Isolé ultrafondo "La Tres Reinos" is set to become a classic, if not someday a queen stage of La Vuelta a España or Le Tour de France: A total elevation of 4,800 m over 170 km, with 10 typically Pyrenean passes. For riders looking to test their capacities on mountain races, la Tres Reinos is the perfect fit.

Joseph Habierre was on the Tour 1910, featuring the first mountain stage ever between Luchon and Bayonne. A legendary stage with the mythical Pyrenean climbs: Peyresourde, Aspin, Tourmalet, Aubisque. Joseph finished 23 in Bayonne, a mere 3 hrs 20 min. behind Octave Lapize, who will win the Tour 5 days later. Out of the 59 riders in Luchon, 13 did not finish, and the rearmost arrived in Bayonne more than 7.5 hours after Lapize.

To celebrate the amazing performance of Joseph, here is the Tourmalet 1910: A gravel time-trial, on the exact replica of the first climb of the Tourmalet. Same distance, same elevation, same altitude. And same terrain: An unpaved, 100% gravel mountain path. For riders seeking some fun in a jaw dropping environment, La Tourmalet 1910 will fulfill their dreams.

THE PYRENEES HIKE & BIKE CAMP AGENDA

DAY 1

Your Pyrénées Hike & Bike Camp starts in Canfranc where we will meet you for the first briefing: terrain, safety, equipment, gpx setup.

After the briefing, you can go out for a short yet exhilarating self-guided hike on top of the mountain just a mile away. From there, you'll enjoy a unique view onto the Pyrénées.

DAY 2

After this warm-up walk on top of the Pyrénées, you will spend the day on a scenic gravel road. An abandoned village, a lost church, and a tunnel are on the menu of this unforgettable ride. 40 kilometers to get you ready for what will come next!

DAY 3

Remember the day Remco Evenepoel lost La Vuelta 2023? Now is your turn to discover the road where the Belgian Campionissimo got hit by the Witch with Green Teeth. Your journey starts in Formigal, the largest ski resort of the Western Pyrénées, and ends at le Soulor, the pass that marks the frontier with the High Pyrénées. In between, you will enjoy the long descent towards Laruns, before turning right to climb the famous col d'Aubisque...

DAY 4

After yesterday's Aubisque and Soulor, here comes one of the highlights of your week: La Isolé ultrafondo “Tres Reinos”, the Three Kingdoms. With its 10 cols across 2 countries and 3 provinces (those kingdoms, got it?), the Tres Reinos ultrafondo is on a World-first format: It is open exclusively to groups of 3 to 5 riders, who must reach the finish line together. No one of the group can be left behind. La Isolé ultrafondo “Tres Reinos” is all about team spirit!

Participants join La Isolé under their own registration. Morning strategy talk + debrief after the ride.

DAY 5

Sunday's special: A gravel time-trial, on the exact replica of the first climb of the Tourmalet pass back in 1910. That's an heroic 18 kilometers ride from Borau to the refuge Lopez Huici, at 2,200 meters above sea level. With its steep slopes and stunning environment, la Tourmalet 1910 will stay engraved forever in your memory.

DAY 6

Monday means rest day, correct? So, no cycling today. Just a 3 hours hike to a fountain... and a cave. Believe us: This is will be your best rest day ever.

DAY 7

Remember the epic mountain stage won by Remco Evenepoel at the Vuelta 2023, the day after his failure? Here is your chance to enjoy the thrilling climbs of la Hourcere, Puerto de Larrau, and la Pierre Saint-Martin / Larra-Belagua. You will start your ride in Aramits, heading to the Musketeers Valley and the first climb: La Hourcère pass. Then, you will descend through forests and canyons, turn left, reach the beautiful basque village of Larrau, turn left again. Here starts the legendary Port de Larrau col, with its terrific ramps, heavy wind, and marvelous landscape. Then, onto Isaba in Navarra, one last left turn, and boom, the ascent to the Larra-Belagua ski resort. After the finish line of the Vuelta's stage, you will continue a few kilometers to reach the Pierre Saint-Martin pass. Just to savor the view up there...

DAY 8

Everything has an end, so this Pyrénées Hike & Bike 2026 ends today! After the debriefing at breakfast, you will head to the Pau airport. Wish you a safe trip home, and hope to see you again in 2027 for a new Pyrénées Hike & Bike Camp!
