The 7 Colors of La Pierre are three formulas for a challenge: Climb la Pierre Saint-Martin pass via its seven access roads. From Tardets, Lanne-en-Barétous, Arette, Lourdios, Osse-en-Aspe, Lees-Athas on the French side and Isaba on the Spanish side, each of the seven routes offers extraordinary sensations in completely different atmospheres and unique landscapes in the world.

The Pierre Saint-Martin pass is unique in France, even in Europe and perhaps unique in the world, like the landscapes it offers. Accessible by seven different routes, from two countries and three provinces.

LA MONTÉE DE LA PIERRE

La Montée de La Pierre is the easiest way to enter the Club des Pecs de La Pierre. You complete the seven ascents one by one, in the order of your choice, on the dates of your choice (subject to the opening of the passes). Your only obligations: Complete the climb on a muscle bike, and gradually communicate to us the date and times of departure and arrival, the .gpx file and photos of the entrance sign to the departure village and the border marker at the La Pierre Saint-Martin pass.

By completing the seven climbs, you will join the somewhat zany club of “Pecs de la Pierre™”, the club of those who madly love cycling and the Western Pyrenees. To join the Pecs de la Pierre™ club, you must provide the recording of your route (.gpx file) by email to: homologation[@]lespecsdelapierre.club. Also, you must publish on Instagram the photos taken in front of the entrance sign of each of the seven villages, starting points for the seven climbs, with the hashtag #The7colors.

THE PEC DE LA PIERRE challenge

The Pecs de La Pierre Challenge is simple: You must complete two ascents to the Col de La Pierre Saint-Martin in the same day, via two separate routes, with descents and bike connections. You choose your route, subject to the opening of the passes. Your only obligations: Use a muscle bike, and provide us with the date and times of departure and arrival, the .gpx file and photos of the entrance sign to the departure village and the border marker at the Col de La Pierre Saint -Martin.

The cost of registration for each of the three options is €0. Yes, zero euros. You don't have to pay to become a Pec de la Pierre. However, by registering, you do accept the rules of the 7 Colors of La Pierre. After entering your registration, you automatically join the Pecs de La Pierre Strava club. As this is a permanent raid, the routes can be completed on the dates of your choice within the periods defined for each of the three formulas, subject to the opening of the passes.

L'ULTRA DE La Pierre

LE tour DE LA PIERRE

Le Tour de La Pierre is the recreational outing of the Club des Pecs de La Pierre. A loop of 215 km and 4,700 m of positive altitude difference starting from Arette, which goes completely around the Pic d'Anie massif through the 4 provinces it dominates: Béarn, Aragon, Navarre and Basque Country. You choose your departure date, subject to the opening of the passes, between April 1 and October 30 of the current year. Your only obligations: Use a muscle bike, and provide us with the departure and arrival dates and times, the .gpx file and photos of the exit and entry signs for Arette and the signs for the main passes.

This apparently easy loop has 8 passes: Le Somport (1632 m.), Alto de Borau (1144 m.), Alto de Aisa (1227 m.), Alto de Jasa (1219 m.), Alto de Vedao (1083 m.), Alto de Machamachos (1141 m.), Puerto de Laza (1087 m.) and Port-de-Larrau (1573 m.). The sequence of 3 small passes: Borau, Aisa and Jasa must be taken seriously, and the respite areas before the Port of Larrau are very short... Finally, the Montory coast is there to remind us that we have muscles and they are very tired after more than 200 kilometers in the mountains!

With the Tour de La Pierre, cyclists of all conditions will find what they are looking for. A long warm-up to the Somport pass, then from Villanua the series of small Aragonese passes before heading due north towards the legendary Port of Larrau, all in incredibly beautiful landscapes...
